i like the idea of children's hearts as stone, divine and earthly. the resilience that comes with being so small and yet understanding the world as it is. i hope, because we cannot continue otherwise, there are brighter days ahead.

i found a letter on twitter from a girl who lost her mother to this tragedy, and ended up crying for a loss that wasn't even mine. things like this belong to nightmares, not here, in our day-to-day lives. i wholeheartedly share your thoughts and the admiration for all educators

i saw that too -- absolutely broke my heart. i feel like we are all carrying a mutual grief that has become too heavy for many of us, and even that must be less than those who are direct victims. we can only hope for better things
